2008 playoffs.....

Who do you think will get into the playoffs in the MLB this year? We will see if anyone was right later this year.

I am fairly confident in the Dodgers this year, but I am 99% sure that the Yankees will make it...... AGAIN!!!!!

uhhhh....in the past ten years 1998-2007...TWO teams have won it all more then once: New York Yankees(1998-2000) and Boston Red Sox(2004 and 2007).

Airsoftguy...he DID predict the wild cards...look above ....Indians and Braves.

I agree with the Braves selection, but the Indians will win the Central and the Tigers will finish second. I think the Mariners are primed for the wild card this year(finishing second to the Angels.) I will buy the rest of SA's predictions.

It is not the 50's. The Dodgers may have won 2 WS's in that decade (1955 and 1959) however they could not touch the Yankees with 5 wins (1951-53, 1956, 1958) . The Yankees also played in all but 2 World series during that 10 year span(1951-1960) missing only in 1954 and 1959. Compare that with Brooklyn/LA's 5 appearances.

But the Tigers will win the Central. Why? The Marlins trade!!!!!!

They traded some prospects for Dontrelle Willis AND Miguel Cabrera!!!!!

I mised that trade. I agree, now, that does make the Tigers much better. Nice to see that are spending some money now to improve themselves plus holding on to there young farm guys. If the Indians stand pat the Tigers will prove to be the bette team, but the Indians tasted success in the late 90's and are on the verge of repeating there run again(as evidenced by last years playoff performance). If they stand pat...then the Tigers have the edge. If the Indians make a bold move...and acquire players that fit their needs and are comparable to Willis and Cabrera, then they will create a great A.L. Central race. Look for the Marlins to make a playoff run in the next couple years. Why, look at their history, a World Series championship about every five years, and a solid farm system that combined with some strategic free agency acquisitions + trades builds them a team that has great potential and has proved themselves twice in the past 15 years to either be very lucky or to be the best in all baseball.

Actually the Tigers really depleted their farm system for the trade.

The Dodgers are not very far behind the D-Backs, and were tied for first not long ago, so I still have hope for them. I am also hoping the Dodgers will be the first team to win the World Series after finishing under 500 in the regular season.

I wouldn't say that, just because they have only won 1 playoff game since 1988. I mean, they will be up against a team that hasn't won a World Series since 1908.
